Vintage French Odd Opening Mechanisms
This knife was made by "Pradel" around 1955. It is a trick opening knife that is
opened by squeezing the scales at a certain point. The scales are beautiful jigged bone.
These knives were also made by "Pradel" and open
in the same manner as the previous three knives.
This knife is opened by pressing down on the raised part of the rocker arm. By pulling back
on the raised portion of the rocker arm the knife is locked in the open or closed position. The
blade is tang stamped "Inox" over "247". The rocker is stamped "System D' Ouveture" over
"Brevete". The scales are beautiful jigged bone.
This "coffin" shaped knife is opened, and closed by pressing down the lockback release. The
blade is tang stamped with letters that are not fully visable. The blade is stamped lengthwise
"Cyrnos". The scales are genuine stag.
This knife is opened, and closed by sliding the button to the right. To lock the knife the
button is slid downward. The blade is stamped lengthwise "Nogent" on the front, and
"Inoxyd" on the rear. The scales are black plastic.
This knife was also made by "Pradel" and has imitation mother of pearl scales.
This "coffin" shaped knife is opened, and closed by pressing down on the button which lifts
the backspring. The blade is tang stamped with letters that are not fully visable. The blade is
stamped lengthwise "St J.M.", over "XX", over "Inox". The scales are jigged bone. This knife
was made by the same company that made the two "Cyrnos" knives below.
This is another "Cyrnos" stamped knife and only the second I have personally seen.

This knife was also made by "Pradel" and has genuine horn scales.
This knife is the same pattern as the above knife. The blade is tang stamped "Begon"
over "Inox". The scales are black plastic. It is complete with its original box.
